Cervical Cancer Prevention: Protecting Women Through Early Action
Cervical cancer is one of the most preventable forms of cancer, yet it remains a leading cause of cancer-related deaths among women in many developing countries, including Kenya. The good news is that with vaccination, regular screening, and early treatment, cervical cancer can often be prevented before it becomes life-threatening. According to the World Health Organization, most cervical cancer cases are caused by persistent infection with the Human Papillomavirus (HPV), a common virus transmitted through sexual contact.
